So, health issues means my summer was taken up with recovery from surgery. Now that fall has arrived, I'm feeling better and anxious to try more new recipes from all these new cookbooks I've received!

Snickerdoodles

Printable Recipe



1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup flour
1 t. baking soda
2 t. cream of tartar
1/2 t. salt

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat together. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Chill dough for about an hour. Roll into balls, and roll those balls in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar: 2 T. sugar/2 t. cinnamon.

Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly brown, but still soft.
