These are delicious and is one of my family's favorite cookies, especially because they are not chocolate, so The Doctor can eat them. The dough freezes well.

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 t vanilla
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 6 cups flour
- 6 t baking soda
- 3 t cinnamon
- 2 T ginger, ground
- 1 1/2 t salt
- Cream together shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs, vanilla, molasses and mix well.
- Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Roll into balls and roll in additional sugar.
- Bake at 350 for about 9-10 minutes.
